Mark Weitz, MSW, RSW
I am a licensed social worker with a combined 18 years of clinical practice involving individual counselling for adults and seniors, caregivers, supportive counselling, support group leadership, and community case management. I am a Registered Social Worker (RSW) and a member in good standing with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and with the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). I started my private practice 9 years ago and see both psychotherapy and case management clients.
Mark Weitz Counselling is an integrative practice that provides in-person psychotherapy with a speciality in caregiver counselling. I also provide case management and health system navigation to adults, seniors and family caregivers.
I am trained in and practice both brief- and long-term psychotherapy. I have an academic background in psycho-dynamic therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused psychotherapy. I have completed updated training in CBT from The Beck Institute of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (Pennsylvania) and I’m currently completing an intensive, online course in Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) that was developed by psychologist and ACT co-founder, Dr. Steven Hayes.
I regularly update and improve my private practice with workshops and courses to ensure my knowledge is current and most relevant to your individual needs.
